Dennis "Lumberjack" King
Drummer / Vocalist for Landia
Dennis started playing the drums when he was about eight years old. He
always wanted to play the drums professionally and he knew that someday
it would come true!
Coming up through the years he has played various styles of music. Drumming
to Gospel, R & B, Soul, Rock, Jazz and Alternative has made Dennis
a very versatile musician. He’s notably played with: The Gospel Keys,
Indiana Soul Searchers, The Heavenly Wonders, Reflections of Genesis,
Zone Patrol, Bahama, Cephas, The Chambers Brothers, Louis Johnson(The
Brother’s Johnson), and now....LANDIA!
His influences include the great Dennis Chambers, Simon Phillips, Chuck
Morris, Omar Hakim, Buddy Rich and the current sensation Carter Beauford
of the Dave Matthews Band.
In addition to his tight and steady beats, Dennis is also a great vocalist!
You will hear his rich voice backing up almost every song on the Landia
CD. David Landia calls Dennis a "phenomenal asset" to the band!!
Dennis is one of the most well rounded musicians you’ll ever meet. He’s
devoted to his family and friends and attends Church for inspiration.
He loves playing sports as well as dancing, bowling and a good game at
the pool table. He’s also considered to be quite the romantic!
Dennis is very devoted to making his drum kit sound fantastic! To give
you a sneak peak at his arsenal: names like Pearl, Zildjian, Sound Percussion,
Remo, Rhythm Tech and Revelle are integrated to create the hot "Lumberjack"
sound.
Oh, and did we tell you.....Dennis hits ‘em HARD!!!
